Kathy d'Adesky

1953 -

In Kathy d’Adesky art, as in her life, little comes between her thoughts and her actions. Audacious and hyperactive, d'Adesky acts out her paranoia and anxiety. Her paintings are bold and uninhibited with little interest in delicacy. She applies her paints quickly and densely. Her flowers are always freshly realized, immediate and invigorating images. Her portraits resemble the person depicted with uncanny insight and expressionistic zeal. In an Orlando Sentinel article about d’Adesky, Vicky Koren said, "Colors collide and images stand out, while eager brush strokes give a continuous motion and rich texture to each piece." Yet, the vivid description is almost an understatement.
